President Tripathi statement on fatal stabbing

UB President Satish K. Tripathi sent the following statement to the campus regarding the tragic incident that occurred on the North Campus Friday evening:

Dear University Community,

Yesterday evening, a Buffalo State College student was stabbed on campus and transported by ambulance to Erie County Medical Center, where he was later pronounced deceased. University Police are actively investigating this horrible act of violence and are in communication with Buffalo State police and local police.

I want to reassure our campus community that University Police believe there is no residual danger to campus from this incident. University Police are asking anyone who has information about this incident or who believes that their personal safety is at risk to please call UPD at 716-645-2222. I want to thank the members of our campus community who are already assisting with this investigation.
