University Police investigating robbery near South Campus

University Police are investigating a robbery that occurred on June 26 at 5:50 a.m. on the sidewalk at Bailey Avenue and Goodyear Road. The suspect approached the victim and said he had a knife and demanded the victim’s purse. No weapon was displayed.

The suspect is described as a black male of about 20 years old, with a thin beard and a tall, thin build. He was reportedly wearing a light blue T-shirt and jeans. He was seen leaving the area in a small, older model off-white car, heading east on Main Street.

To protect yourself, remember to stay alert to your surroundings and always travel with other people. 

Members of the community are urged to be vigilant at all times. Report any unusual circumstances or suspicious persons and activities to the University Police as soon as possible.
