UB Police let people back into Capen Hall and adjoining buildings at 8 a.m. after a small electrical fire in Capen Hall was reported and extinguished. The building had been temporarily evacuated for about an hour as fire crews investigated the cause of the fire.
Elevators in Capen Hall were temporarily non-operational but were back in full operation by 9:45 a.m.
There were no injuries and very little damage to Capen Hall.
Do not call 911 or University Police for general information during an emergency, as this will delay response to the emergency. This site will provide new details as quickly as possible.
