Issue with UB South Campus Fire Reporting System

Published May 20, 2016 at 4:00 PM This content is archived.

The University at Buffalo’s Fire Reporting System on the South Campus is currently not functioning. Contracting work being done on Bailey Avenue has damaged the fire alarm monitoring loop, disabling its ability to automatically notify the Buffalo Fire Department.  Fire alarms will still activate and sound in buildings, however first responders may not be notified.

Effective immediately and until further notice, if a fire alarm is activated on the South Campus:

Evacuate the building whenever a fire alarm sounds.

If any building alarms are sounded, contact University Police at 645-2222 as soon as possible to ensure prompt emergency response.

Should a situation exist where the lack of a Fire Reporting System would seriously restrict your ability to conduct business, please call the contact listed below to discuss other options.

Repairs to the fire alarm system may take several weeks to complete. An update will be sent once all repairs have been made.

UB North Campus and UB Downtown fire alarm systems are operating as normal.
