The National Weather Service has issued a blizzard warning for northern Erie County. The warning, in effect until 1 a.m. Wednesday, warns of wind gusts up to 45 mph, whiteout conditions and up to 3 inches of additional snow.

UB officials are monitoring weather conditions in the area. Meanwhile, the university is following its regular operational and academic schedule.

The UB Bulls men's basketball team will play its regularly scheduled game tonight (Jan. 2) at 7 p.m. at Alumni Arena. For additional public events, please check departmental websites.

Please remember, if you are traveling to, from or on campus, be cautious and use your best judgement in assessing the risk of coming to campus and returning home based on your individual circumstances.

The university prepares for severe weather events and is ready to respond if severe weather adversely affects campus operations and road conditions both on- and off-campus. If conditions become unsafe and there is a change in scheduled operations resulting in class cancellations or delays, UB faculty, staff and students will be informed by email, text, social media and through UB’s emergency website: www.emergency.buffalo.edu.

Information for employees about what to do if weather prevents them from coming to campus is available at http://emergency.buffalo.edu/weather.html#employees
