The occupants of all University at Buffalo buildings are required to immediately evacuate the building when a fire alarm system is activated. Persons shall not enter the building until advised that it is safe to do so by the University Police after the building has been declared safe by the fire department on location.
The Buffalo Niagara region of Western New York can at times experience severe weather. Winter weather can be especially unpredictable and may affect each campus differently. It is important for the university community to be prepared to take action if severe weather notifications or warnings are issued.
If UB experiences a campus-wide cyber emergency, it will be reported the same way as other emergencies. Many personal cyber incidents happen every day, however, and can be problematic for you.
The likelihood you'll experience a violent incident on campus is low; you should be prepared though, both mentally and physically, to deal with a violent situation before law enforcement arrives.
Chemical spills can occur on campus at any time and have the potential to cause harmful effects.
