University at Buffalo Police are investigating a report of an assault that occurred on Jan. 22 at Clark Gym on the UB South Campus.

Witnesses describe the suspects as a group of six to eight black males, 18-22 years old, all dressed in black, with one wearing a leather jacket and another a green NFL Eagles winter hat.  The victim was punched about the face.

Some of the suspects were captured on video and have been identified. University Police are continuing to investigate.  Anyone who may have information about the incident is urged to call 716-645-2227.

This is not believed to be a random act and there does not appear to be any continuing threat to the campus community.

Members of the campus community are urged to be vigilant at all times, and to report any unusual circumstances or suspicious persons and activities to the University Police as soon as possible. Tips on any campus crime can be reported at 645-2227 or anonymously at www.upolice.buffalo.edu.
