Strong-Arm Robbery Reported Near South Campus

The Niagara Frontier Transportation Authority (NFTA) Police report that a strong-arm robbery occurred at about 9 p.m. on Dec. 18 in front of the NFTA's University rail station, which is adjacent to UB's South Campus.

The victim was shoved and a cell phone was taken out of her hands as she was boarding an NFTA bus, according to police. The suspect was described as a black male wearing a green jacket and a winter knit cap with a ball on top. The suspect fled the area on foot, and the victim was not injured.

Members of the community are urged to be vigilant at all times, and to report any unusual circumstances or suspicious persons and activities to the University Police as soon as possible.
