Robbery reported on North Campus

University Police are investigating a robbery that occurred last night, October 18, at 10 p.m. outside of 108 Hadley Village on UB’s North Campus.

According to UB Police, the suspects approached the victim and displayed a knife and a handgun. The suspects demanded the victim’s bag which contained electronic equipment. The victim was not harmed.

The suspects were described as two white males wearing black hoodies. The suspects fled the area on foot.   

According to investigators, this was not a random act. The victim, a UB student, was targeted through online postings he made to Craigslist in an attempt to sell electronics.

University Police caution members of the UB community not to share their address or other identifying personal information with anyone they do not know. Use caution when posting items for sale or when responding to posts about items for purchase online. 

Members of the community are urged to be vigilant at all times. Report any unusual circumstances or suspicious persons and activities to the University Police at 716-645-2222, as soon as possible.
