Robbery reported near South Campus

The Niagara Frontier Transportation Authority (NFTA) Police are investigating a robbery that occurred at 10 p.m. on April 3 at the University Metro Rail Station adjacent to UB's South Campus.

According to police, the suspect approached the victim, said he had a gun and demanded the victim’s property. No weapon was displayed. The suspect is described as a black male of about 5-foot-10, wearing a black and green wool cap, black mask, black jeans and black coat with grey stripes on the side. The victim is believed to be an Erie Community College student.

Recently, there have been similar incidents at and near the University Metro Rail Station. NFTA Police and UB Police will be increasing patrols in this area.

Members of the community are urged to be vigilant at all times, and to report any unusual circumstances or suspicious persons/activities to the University Police as soon as possible.
