Niagara Frontier Transportation Authority (NFTA) Police are investigating a strong-arm robbery reported on May 11 at 10:56 a.m. near UB's South Campus. The robbery occurred off campus at the top of the NFTA's University rail station, and a suspect has been apprehended.
The suspect stole the victim’s iPhone and fled on foot. The suspect was viewed on university security cameras running away from the campus and was apprehended within minutes by the NFTA and University Police a short distance away. The victim was unhurt and the stolen property recovered.
To protect yourself, always be alert to your surroundings and the people around you. Whenever possible, avoid walking alone.
