UB’s Facilities Operations has been successful in drying most of the space affected by the flooding in Norton Hall. It is anticipated that occupants will move back into their ground and first floor offices during the week of March 13. UB’ Office of Environment, Health & Safety (EH&S) will continue to monitor and test the affected area for persistent moisture and humidity.
A root cause analysis of the sprinkler failure is ongoing, however, preliminary results indicate a possible sprinkler head malfunction. The sprinkler head has been replaced.
Do not call 911 or University Police for general information during an emergency, as this will delay response to the emergency. This site will provide new details as quickly as possible.
