The Buffalo Police Department is investigating a home invasion that occurred on Winspear Avenue at 10:45 pm last night. Buffalo Police reported that three black males in their teens were armed with handguns, forced their way into the house and demanded money. Suspects were not picked up on university cameras coming onto campus. They fled on foot in an unknown direction. Police have reason to believe this house was specifically targeted by the suspects. The victims in this case are not affiliated with the university. UB Police assisted Buffalo police, but the suspects were not immediately apprehended.
Members of the community are urged to be vigilant at all times and report any unusual circumstances or suspicious persons/activities to the University Police as soon as possible. You can contact the University Police (716) 645-2222, or activate any of the Blue Light Emergency phones located on UB’s campuses.
Do not call 911 or University Police for general information during an emergency, as this will delay response to the emergency. This site will provide new details as quickly as possible.
