Alumni Arena on UB’s North Campus is closed to students and employees until further notice due to a loss of power in the building caused by a small electrical fire this afternoon. Facilities crews are working to restore power as soon as possible.
All intramural and recreation activities are cancelled tomorrow. The university does not anticipate cancelling any UB Athletics team events at this time.
Updates will be posted at www.emergency.buffalo.edu. UB’s Office of Environmental Health and Safety is available to answer questions from the campus community at (716) 829-3301 or EHS@facilities.buffalo.edu.
The campus community was notified of the decision to close Alumni Arena at 5:45 p.m. today via the UB Alert notification system.
Do not call 911 or University Police for general information during an emergency, as this will delay response to the emergency. This site will provide new details as quickly as possible.
