On July 5, 2018, University Police interviewed a female who reported being sexually assaulted during the Town of Amherst Independence Day event being held on the University at Buffalo North Campus.
The female reported that, just prior to the fireworks display on July 4, 2018, an unknown male entered a portable restroom she was using and forcibly assaulted her. She described the suspect as a black male, approximately 5'8" tall, with a dark complexion, muscular build, short, curly hair, wearing a black t-shirt and black shorts.
University Police is urging anyone with information to call (716) 645-2222.
Members of the community are urged to be vigilant at all times, and report any unusual circumstances or suspicious persons or activities to the University Police as soon as possible.
